MAHOGANY: REFLECTIONS OF A YOUNG BLACK MAN by
Josué casa
Mahogany: Reflections of a Young Black Man is a collection of poetry focused on the telling of an individual who does not solely fit the stereotypical, limited, and mundane archetypes that society has to offer at this point. Released on November 19, 2021, these reflections are those of a 22-year-old who urges us all to just be a little more compassionate. Hopefully through these poetic ensembles you too may be just a little more compassionate to your fellow person.
“The raw emotion brought across to the reader alone is reason to keep reading. The setting is almost like a small group of people in a room, intimate setting, drinks in hand, and just a man sharing the way he feels. Not only about his own life, but also the journey he's taken to land with the perceptions and ideas he has.”
— Christine Merdes, Cloud Security Executive
“This is beyond a phenomenal read. This is the kind of book that as a white woman, challenges me in more ways than one. 3-5 days after reading this my mind is still swirling with different affirmations, intrinsic thoughts, challenging beliefs…EVERYTHING!”
— Madison Barner, Director of Client & Project Management
